Thanks for all the good words and jokes. Mom likes hearing the jokes, and the knock-knock jokes in particular are a big hit.
Today was a step back. Ganguly reminded anyone that didn't already know this would happen that it's nothing unexpected. She had a bit more of a temperature, which may or may not have been due to platelet infusions. Ultimately she's had a temperature and required more oxygen than the past few days, but that is nothing to be upset about.
With all of us rallying around her, she'll bounce back and trend up as she was previously. I was telling someone earlier today that I just hope we've hit the worst of it as I know there will be plenty of challenges along the way. Today proved that.
Anyway, no PT today and this does confirm she's in the right place in ICU. She did require the BiPAP more than she has the last few days, but focus on the same things we have previously - beat pneumonia and grow good WBC's!
She may require another bronchoscopy during which they could leave an oxygen tube inside during the procedure. Now certainly we're hoping they won't need to leave it in nor execute another one of those. But if they do, let's hope it's the last one required.
That's it - short update but really just need to get everyone rallied around the positives she's had and look to greener pastures ahead.
Thanks everyone, Conor

Cathi,
Just wanted to send you positive thoughts. We are sorry to hear that today was tough but tomorrow will be better because everyone on this blog is sending you every good thought that they can possibly think of...that is one heck of a lot of good thoughts. You are an inspiration to all of us and we positively know that the WBC's are growing and the pneumonia is surrendering...
Christie and Nick
Dear Cathi and friends...here is a joke from Boys Life magazine the boys and I were reading tonight.
"Why wouldn't they let the elephant get on the plane??
Because his trunk was too big!"
(that never happened to me!!)
Wishing you a great Sunday. Keeping the prayers.
Love you, Rhonda
Hi! Aunt Cathi. This is David. I am glad my mom got to come see you.
I am glad you walked yesterday. I beat my mom at gin today...hope you won some hands off your mom too. (Grandma...I beat her lots at the lake house.)
Love, David
Still rallying here in Toledo! They say you can't truly feel how good those good days feel unless you have experienced some not so good days. Here's looking forward to those good days!
We had a garage sale yesterday. Not so good day, but we are $91.00 richer. Hot dog money for Chicago next week! Hey Conor, did Walt tell you we are coming to the windy city for a trifecta? We will be at the (white sox -sorry!) on Saturday night, the Cubs game on Sunday night, and the Brewers game on Monday afternoon. 3 new stadiums for the kids and I (Darin went last year with friends). If you will be back in Chicago we would love to see you.
Let's go WBC! Lets go! Clap, clap, clap. Fight those PNE's! Let's go! Clap, Clap, Clap.
Love,
Cheryl
Hi Cathi
Hope today is shaping up to be a better day than yesterday. Keep on concentrating on those WBCs.
Now this may not be a rib-tickler but it's the 2nd oldest known joke in the world, written in 1600BC.
Q: How do you entertain a bored pharaoh?
A: Sail a boatload of young women dressed only in fishing nets down the Nile and urge him to catch a fish.
(The oldest joke in the world is even worse!)
Steve and I must have been inspired by Gail and Ben, as we've spent the morning clearing out the garage. But we won't be having a garage sale like Cheryl - we'd be lucky to get a tenner! So my next task is to find a good home for my old bicycle.
Sending you lots of positive vibes and love and prayers. Little steps...
love from #2 G.O.T.
Hello from Denver AND from the Middle East! Do we have all the corners of the world covered yet?
Ben sends his most positive healing thoughts to you all the way from Kibbutz Ein HaShofet near Haifa, Israel. I just spoke to him this morning/ evening as he was headed to dinner.
[which is something that I have often pondered... since it is already almost tomorrow in Israel, does Ben have the ability to tell me what the winning Lotto numbers are in Denver, since it is still morning here?) Ya think??]
He has had a lot of adventure packed into the last 72 hours, but everything has worked out ultimately.
Which is what we know will come of the adventures you are faced with, Cathi. I am hoping that today you feel a little bit better after the BiPap machine and the additional rest you got Saturday. That positive and keep-at-it attitude of yours always shines through no matter what. There is nothing you cannot do - and you continue to prove it over and over again. You are inspiring so many of us. Thank you for being such an amazing person, friend, and relative.
Love you so much!

Good Afternoon
I am running a little late today, slept in and then went to water areobics trying to work off some fat. Too much eating out while in KC, but not having to cook is a good thing.
We are off shortly for our regular Sunday at his Moms where we will do yard work etc. We have had some fresh tomatoes and squash from the garden, hoping to make zuchini bread with some of the over sized ones. John got some heirloom tomatoes from the Historical Society sale, they seem to be doing okay but slow to ripen.
Well I wouldn't want you to go another minute without your knock knock fix so here you go.
Knock Knock!
Who's there?
Rita.
Rita who?
Rita books instead of reading these dumb knock knock jokes!
Robbie I don't want to hear any complaining since I beat you today.
You hang in there kiddo all of us are thinking of you and know you are going to turn the corner soon.

Cathi,
Well it's Sunday PM and my son inlaw (the Chef) has a pasta sauce bubbling on the stove that smells so good it would make you want to slap your grandmother. Luckily for me none of my Grandchildren will be here for dinner.
Love and Kisses,
Nedra
Cathi,
I came by and saw you yesturday. You were sleeping it was late, I will come by during the day soon. Yesturday, Tom and Roy were baptized and I can't help but think of what a great godmother you are and I hope I can do such a good job.
Hello
Janis, the package was returned by the hospital. I will send it to the house this time. Let me know when it gets to you.
Love
Diane
