Sun, 8.17 - And the results are in...

...the Leukemia is gone! The nurse practitioner had told Mom yesterday (Sat, 8.16) that was a good sign. Apparently they are almost immediate when something bad shows up, they call pretty quickly. Results still weren't expected until Tuesday so great to get them early and be positive!!!

The past few days have brought several visits to the clinic and this morning the hospital. That's not unexpected, but definitely would prefer to stay out of those medical locales. They've kept doing cheset X-Rays and Friday mom got platelets. And under ideal circumstances, Mom will go back twice / week. So I would expect that to become the norm the further along we get.

Today Mom went to the hospital as she had a little bit of a temperature, and some slight nausea. They hung a few IVs of antibiotics then she'll return tomorrow for another IV bag or two. The funny thing is she slept most of the time there!

We did learn through the past few days that we're working towards a clear chest X-Ray. They speculate that could take 6 weeks (as Annie said, all these data points are finally starting to make sense). So Mom is doing her breathing toys 3 times or more per day at 10 time per exercise. Now that we have something tangible, she's on it. Did anyone expect less?

Keep up the good work! I have been waiting with baited breath for an update since Wednesday. I am definately going through blog withdrawal.

Remember, slow and steady wins the race. You are the clear winner here!

Wonderful news about the Leukemia! Like Cheryl, I've been checking the blog for an update.

And the next goal is a clear chest x-ray. As Conor says, now you know what the goal is there'll be no holding you back!

Keep smiling, dear. We're all still sending you daily prayers and humdinger vibes!

I guess it is true that getting no news is good news - but having the news now is FABULOUS!! :)

This is so exciting! Can we get a line graph posted to see all the progress to date? I'm sure it is fairly vertical and will only keep going up.

Yea yea yea!!!!

Congratulations Cathi on getting back home. Sorry I haven't been in touch with everyone lately Ive just been really busy and exhausted with work. I love it here in Israel and I'm starting to pick up on a lot of Hebrew. Ive had a pretty rough week and am now currently sick but Ive found that no one here really takes days off... They have to serve in the army here and I think that trained them to just grind away. I miss you all and Ill keep you updated as often as possibble.

Love ben,

if some of you dont have my email address it is bendevore@comcast.net

Cathi,
What a relief to know all the cancer is gone and you are clear. Next, the lungs. I hope you are enjoying being out of the hospital and home, even if you have to visit often. Keep improving - you're my hero.

Hip Hip Hooray! I know today (Tuesday) was another long day at the clinic.

What I want to know about is this "conditioning diet" - Does it include chocolate?

You must be exhausted - but we're all rooting for you.

Keep up the great recovery!

Cathi,
I am so happy you don't have to face another round of Chemo. That has to be a huge relief.

Lot of love and hugs to you.
